Mycopunk patch notes (2.0.2–2.0.3)
Mycopunk's last two patches are both small, and one of them exists to fix a regression the other introduced. If a pattern-fused upgrade has been behaving backwards, 2.0.3 is the patch that undoes it.
Both lists below are the developer's Steam announcements; nothing here is inferred.
2.0.3 (23 October) — the regression fix
The headline is unglamorous but important: 2.0.2 made Pattern Infusion scale harder with pattern size, and in doing so some upgrades that should have improved with a bigger pattern did the opposite. 2.0.3 fixes that. If you fused a build between the two patches and the numbers looked wrong, re-check it now.
| Change | What it means in play |
|---|---|
| Weapon recoil now respects the screenshake slider | Camera kick is an accessibility setting now, not a fixed value |
| Gunship cannon Prism upgrade scales harder with pattern size | The scaling was described as "basically unnoticeable" before |
| Fixed the 2.0.2 regression where larger patterns reduced stats that should rise | Re-fuse the affected upgrade |
| Planetary Defense railgun targeting reads movement again | It failed especially with WASD plus a controller with noisy sticks |
| Guns no longer go silent when joining an in-progress game | Audio initialisation on late join |
| Hunk garages in Paid Time Off spawn correctly | The mission could start with partial garages |
| Two description typos fixed | Snowball Grenade, and the Mycologist passive that named Fungal Skewer instead of Sporelift |
The railgun fix has a second effect worth knowing: placing upgrades with a mouse while a controller is plugged in should also feel better, because it is the same input path.
2.0.2 (22 October) — Pattern Infusion gets sharper
- Bigger patterns now give more upgrade stats, and smaller patterns penalise less. This is the change that made fusing worth planning around.
- Eye of the Storm consumes infection while firing, with decay based on how infected you were when you started. You can still tap the util button for a Fungal Skewer.
- Glider's Star Fuel fixed — it was decreasing fly duration when fused with a larger pattern.
- Carver's Sharing Lunch health chunks now heal allies (they were not healing).
- Hollow employee upgrades can be equipped alongside a hollow cryo upgrade — previously the game refused the pair.
- The Mycologist's cape is back, and the Swarm Launcher's reload animation resets when you unequip the Telepathic Charging skin.
- Mission-select rendering performance improved.
What to check on your save
- Re-fuse any upgrade you infused between 22 and 23 October. The 2.0.2 numbers were wrong and 2.0.3 corrected the formula, but the item keeps the roll it was given.
- Check your Glider. If Star Fuel was fused before 2.0.2, its duration stat may be lower than intended.
- Re-test the railgun if you play with a controller connected. The input bug was specific to that combination.
What these patches do not change
- Mission structure, enemy stats and the upgrade tree layout are untouched. A build guide written for 2.0.1 still describes the same upgrades; only the infusion maths moved.
- No save-breaking note. Neither post warns about compatibility, so updating mid-run is not flagged as risky.
FAQ
Did 2.0.3 nerf anything?
No — it fixes a regression and buffs the Gunship cannon's Prism scaling. The only "nerf" language in either post is about reducing the penalty for fusing a smaller pattern.
Why did my fused upgrade get worse?
Because of the 2.0.2 regression. Update to 2.0.3 and re-fuse.
Is the screenshake slider now a recoil setting?
It affects weapon recoil that pushes the camera backward, yes. Recoil itself still exists.
