Mycopunk FAQ: Price, Demo, Platforms and Languages
Mycopunk launched on October 20, 2026 at $14.99 with a 50% discount ($7.49). It is Windows only, fully localised in 1.0, supports full controller play, and no PlayStation or Xbox version is announced. The demo is no longer offered after launch.
The questions Mycopunk players ask most are not about builds — they are about money, platforms and whether their friends can join. Here are direct answers, checked against the Steam listing and the 1.0 notes on 21 October 2026.

How much does Mycopunk cost?
$14.99 in the US store. It launched on 20 October 2026 with a 50% discount, which brings it to $7.49 — the same discount the developers advertised in the 1.0 announcement. Launch discounts are time-limited, so check the store page for the current price rather than trusting a screenshot.
Regional pricing applies as usual on Steam. The discount percentage is the useful number to look for; the dollar figure changes by region.
Is the demo still available?
The store page no longer offers a demo download after launch. If you played a demo during Early Access or one of the Steam events, that build is gone — there is no separate free version to fall back on.
If you want to test the game before buying, the practical options are Steam's two-hour refund window and watching a launch-week stream. Two hours is roughly enough to clear the tutorial and one region, which is exactly the window where new players decide whether the loop clicks.
Which platforms is it on?
Windows only, per the store metadata: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac version, no Linux version, and no console release announced.
That also means crossplay is not a question yet. Everyone needs the Steam version. Pages claiming a PS5, Xbox or PlayStation Plus release are speculative.
Is it co-op or single-player?
Both, and the store lists both. Online co-op supports up to four players. There is no local co-op or split-screen mode on the store page, which is worth knowing before you plan a couch session.
Solo play is fully supported, and 1.0 made a specific adjustment for it: enemy count caps were lowered when playing solo on threat 3 and 4.
How long is the game?
There is no official length statement, and the honest answer is that Mycopunk is a looter shooter — the main progression is a curve rather than a campaign with an ending. Public signals give a rough shape:
- Reaching player level 15 sits around 18% of players; level 30 sits around 7%.
- Reviews with 70-300 hours are common among positive reviews, and a 2-3 hour mark is repeatedly described as the point where the game clicks.
- The threat ladder means the "end" is a difficulty you can clear, not a credits screen.
Is it fully localised?
Yes. The 1.0 announcement states that all text is now translated, and the notes mention fixing Russian display issues and Japanese character bugs, plus overflow in Roachard's dialogue box for non-English languages. If you played earlier and found half-translated menus, that changed at launch.
What is the roguelike mode?
Ouroboros. It is a room-by-room run inside the game, with its own currency (Contraband Scrap inside the run, Contraband Gats as the reward) and a Cleanse mechanic that pulls a run upgrade into your permanent collection. There is a full guide to it on this site.
Does difficulty scale with party size?
The store does not publish a scaling table, and the honest answer is that the game adjusts enemy counts rather than advertising a formula. What is documented is a solo-specific change in 1.0: the maximum enemy count for solo play on threat 3 and 4 was lowered. Beyond that, difficulty comes from the threat level and the modifiers you select, not from how many players are in the lobby.
Does it have microtransactions?
There is one paid DLC: a Supporter Pack, released alongside 1.0. It contains cosmetic skins — a chrome skin for each employee, reload animation variants and two exotic skins that change the Glider and Scrapper models. The developers describe it as a way to support them, not as content behind a wall.
Can I play it on a controller?
Yes, with full support: Xbox, DualShock and DualSense are all listed. 1.0 added aim assist (which can be disabled), d-pad menu navigation, and controller-specific bindings including melee hold and the quip wheel for weapon inspection.
Is the game buggy?
It launched with a known-issues list the developers published themselves: two Fulfillments do not progress, the Cranius achievement does not unlock, Bunker Buster unlocks at the wrong count, some Roachard voice lines in Oxythane Breach are not localised, and the Mycologist's cape is missing. None of these block play. Reviews complaining about "bugs" at launch mostly describe difficulty tuning and the pattern infusion change, not crashes.
